We are delighted to announce that we, on behalf of our wonderful Town, were awarded the 2021 Silver Gilt Award in the South & South East Parish in Bloom Competition this year!
This was the first year we have entered this competition and we have been told we are in a strong position to enter the main competition next year. The judge was very impressed with how beautiful our Town looked and made particular reference to the wonderful flower display at The Lemon Tree and also the magnificent Rambling Rector Rose in St. Mildred’s Churchyard. The competition did not just focus on visual flower displays, but looked at how the Town Council (and Town as a whole) is trying to work in a more environmentally friendly way, plans for the Town (regeneration projects), recycling, and how we supported businesses during the pandemic. A huge well done to us all and we look forward to working more closely with businesses and schools to strengthen an application for the 2022 competition.
