It is with frustration that we are reporting the decision of the Planning Inspectorate that the Wates appeal has been allowed.
We would like to state that the Town Council, as well as many residents, provided substantial evidence at the Inquiry against the proposed development and we thank them all for their professionalism and the high quality of evidence produced.
Sadly, Ashford were unable to provide evidence that they were capable of demonstrating a five-year supply of deliverable housing sites, which means policies important for determining this planning application are considered out of date. Therefore, the Inspector concluded that 141 houses will be permitted on Limes Land.
