Tenterden Town Council is to fund specialist advice from a town planning expert in support of the town’s Selective Neighbourhood Plan.
The council’s planning committee received a proposal from chartered town planners Tony Fulwood Associates to advise on the Neighbourhood Plan (NP), which is the only viable and statutory way to protect green spaces for future generations.
Mr Fulwood, former head of planning strategy and development at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, has advised on several other NPs across the southeast.
Estimated fees of up to £14,137 will be met largely from a grant from ‘Locality’ with the balance coming from the council’s budgets for the current year and 2020/21.
