On Monday 18 March, ABC will publish all sites submitted as part of the Ashford Local Plan 2041 – Call for Sites. The information is published in order to be open and transparent. Please be clear that, at this stage, this is a list of submitted sites only.
IMPORTANT: TO DATE, NO SITE ASSESSMENTS HAVE BEEN UNDERTAKEN AND NO DECISIONS HAVE MADE ON ANY OF THE SITES SUBMITTED.
In response to this exercise, the Council received over 300 site submissions.
Not all of the sites submitted will be suitable for development or allocated in the Local Plan. The information to be published is purely for information purposes only.
Where can I view the sites that have been submitted?
From Monday 18 March, all the sites submitted will be available to view on our consultation portal at: https://haveyoursay.ashford.gov.uk/LP41CallforSites
Each site submitted during the consultation exercise has been given a unique HELAA reference number (e.g. HELAA/LP41/001).
Where sites have been submitted after the consultation closed, these have been treated as informal site submissions and published with a suffix to differentiate them from the sites that were submitted during the consultation exercise (e.g. HELAA/LP41/001/INF).
To find individual site information please use the following instructions:
- Use the table on the HELAA website page to identify the relevant sites and the Consultation Questionnaire Response ID number (e.g. 1169747)
- Open the Call for Sites webpage
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Click on ‘View the responses’
- Click on ‘List of respondents’
- Type the Response ID into the search box
- This will select the relevant site submission
What is next the step?
The next stage in the process will involve assessing each of the sites to determine whether they are available or suitable for development. This will be done through a process known as the Housing & Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA).
The work undertaken as part of the HELAA will help to inform the spatial strategy for planned growth within the borough to 2041.
