We would like to thank all of those who came along and took part in marking the very special 80th Anniversary of D-Day last night when the Town's Beacon was lit by the Freewoman of the Town Debbie Greaves & Freeman of the Town Henry Edwards. We all enjoyed war time music entertainment from the brilliant Ruby Sisterz and Heart of Kent Show Choir. Thank you to the Mayor of Tenterden for opening the event and reading out the International Tribute. Thank you to Canon Lindsay Hammond, Reverend Jeanette Kennett and Reverend Andrew Tapsell for leading us in prayers and remembering and thanking all those who were instrumental in the D-Day Landings operation. We would also like to thank the Town Council Staff Team for all their hard work in making this event happen and to Andy Bantock for providing the PA. We will remember them!
